Los Groenendael en el Ring

The guest judge, Michelle Bidault (France) is known by all fans of the breed for her prestige as a specialist judge and also as a breeder. His closeness and his desire to share his knowledge with us made us enjoy his company all weekend.

The trials proceeded without incident, beginning Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

The number of dogs in the catalog was 44 (16 Groenendael and 28 Tervueren), and in the ring we exceeded 38 dogs , figures that had not been seen in a Monograph for a long time.

It is a shame, once again, not to have been able to enjoy the presence of any specimen of the other two varieties.

After more than a year of pandemic, and the “prologue” of last year with our dear friend José Miguel Arratibel, we were able to celebrate our first North Zone Monographic of the Association Our Belgian Shepherds , with the title of “Club Amigo” already recognized by the RSCE .

We enjoyed a Sunday without rain and sunny at times, with very pleasant temperatures that were rising throughout the morning.

The event was held for another year at the Hotel Silvota de Llanera, which, as always, had a lawn in perfect condition.

AISHA DE LA MAGIA D´ASSABICA - M.B. 1º M

The trials for the Groenendael began with three Cubs of which the female Aisha de la Magia d`Assabica was the winner and the second male Ator De Atorr del Nordes , considered by the judge as two very promising and high quality specimens.

The Youth class had two new promises, the female Amalur de Atorr del Nordes and the male Tyron de Bengoetxe , with Amalur de Atorr del Nordes being the best classified.

It was a shame that he could not contest the BIS Joven due to a minor health problem.

The Open female class consisted of 5 bitches, of which Terramar Nordes X-Jewel , by Yago Huertas , was the winner, who competed with the only male from Open Terramar Nordes Xagu who obtained EXC 1º in his class.

The judge highlighted her elegance and typicality of the female, making her the Best of Breed.

To finish with the Groenendael we were able to enjoy in the ring the only Debutante, the male Bart from Atorr del Nordes , who made us all fall in love, including Michelle.

Continuing with the Tervueren, the Puppies class was disputed by the two brothers from the kennel Matylda's, Ungara and Unamuno , both very promising dogs and with much to offer.

It was again the female, Matylda's Ungara , who took first place

The Youth class, made up of two males and two females, was led by Alfa de Atorr del Nordes , a female dog with a beautiful elegant head and a harmonious silhouette.

In Intermediate female class we saw Teka de Pedra Lume , a dog very well valued by the judge with a very correct head and beautiful silhouette

The female Open class was bittersweet; on the one hand, the penalty of being able to have only one female, luckily it was a well-known female of great quality, Queila del Clamíu , who obtained a deserved EXC 1st.

The judge describes her as a beautiful short and balanced dog with a very good head structure.

The male Open class, on the other hand, was undoubtedly the most contested with, neither more nor less than, EIGHT MALES IN RING!

For those of us who have been in this for a long time, it was a pleasant surprise to achieve something that had not been achieved for so many years, not even in the Breeding Specials.

Michelle took her decisions calmly, finally giving the winner of the class to the male Roy from Pedra Lume of our friends Rebeca , Marijose and Toni .

He describes it as a short dog of good size and proportions.

In second place was the male Matylda's Turrón , owned by Emilio Roy , a dog that dazzled the judge with its balance and good construction but that must improve the gaits.

The third place went to Protos del Clamíu of which he highlighted his good bones, color and masculinity, although he would like the leg a little longer.

In Champion class we enjoy the already known Mil Amores du Bois du Tot and Magia del Esperedo , which obtained the BIS Campeones when competing with the champion Groenendael.

The judge noted the quality and good form of both the Tervueren and the Groenendael.

Once again this female, Magia del Esperedo , stood out for her balance between elegance and rusticity, making her a highly typical dog with a beautiful expressive head.

MARA JADE DEL CLAMIU (2).JPG

The winning Veteran was Mara Jade del Clamíu, owned by Beatriz García, who at the age of 8 presented herself in excellent condition, and although the decision was not easy, she prevailed against the male Jaso de Pedra Lume.

As usual, the two old men dazzled us all with their tenderness.

Once the veterans were finished, the finals were played, Matylda's Ungara was chosen Bis Cubs and in the Youth class the Bis went to Alfa de Atorr del Nordes.
